Spray foam removal
Spray foam insulation was sold to many homeowners as a quick fix for heat loss. Many mortgage lenders and surveyors are now wary of it, because it covers the roof timbers and can trap moisture against them. That can make a home harder to sell, remortgage or insure. We remove spray foam carefully, so the timbers can be inspected and the loft can be insulated in a better way.

Signs you should act
- A buyer's survey or a lender has flagged the spray foam
- You plan to sell or remortgage
- You see damp, mould or a musty smell in the loft
- The foam is cracked, shrinking or coming away from the roof
- You want the roof timbers checked
After removal
The loft will need new insulation that lets the roof breathe. We can fit it straight away. See Loft insulation. If the timbers need treatment or repair, see Raft and damp treatment.

Questions
How long does removal take?
It depends on the size of the loft and the type of foam. Your quote gives a time estimate after the survey.
Will you give me evidence that the foam has gone?
Yes. We give you written confirmation of the work, which you can pass to your lender or surveyor.
Do I need to move out?
Usually not. We work in the loft and keep the rest of the house protected.
