Solar repair and fault finding

When a solar system stops making power, the cause can be on the roof, in the loft or inside the inverter. We test the whole system, find the fault and fix it. We repair systems that we installed and systems that other companies installed.

Signs your system needs a repair

  • The inverter shows an error code or a red or orange light
  • The monitoring app shows zero or very low output on a sunny day
  • An isolator or breaker keeps tripping
  • The battery does not charge, or empties too fast
  • A panel is cracked, scorched or loose
  • The app has stopped updating

What we check

  • Inverter error logs and settings
  • Each panel string, for voltage, current and insulation faults
  • DC and AC isolators, connectors and cable runs
  • Battery health and communication with the inverter
  • Monitoring connection and Wi-Fi dongle
  • Panels and mounting for damage

Manufacturer referrals

SolarEdge, Growatt, Lux Power, Pylontech, Solis and Fox ESS accredit JBV Homes. Their support teams can refer customers to us. If they sent you, tell us your case or ticket number when you call.

How it works

  1. Call or send the form

Tell us the inverter make and any error code. A photo of the inverter screen helps.

  2. Remote check

Where we can, we look at the monitoring data first.

  3. Site visit

An engineer tests the system and finds the fault.

  4. Repair

We fix it on the day if we can. If a part is needed, we order it and come back.

  5. Report

We tell you what failed and why.

Questions

Is it safe to touch the inverter?

Follow the shutdown steps on the label next to your inverter. Do not open the inverter or touch panels or cables. If you see smoke, sparks or a burning smell, leave the area and call 999.

Will a repair affect my warranty?

We follow each manufacturer's repair procedures for the brands we are accredited for. If your system is still under warranty, tell us when you book, and we will check what the warranty requires.

What if the system is completely down?

Call our 24/7 emergency line on 020 8453 2283. See Emergency call-outs.
