Property and insulation
Loft insulation
Heat rises, and a poorly insulated loft lets it escape through the roof. Good loft insulation keeps your home warmer and can lower your heating bills. We fit multi-foil insulation and other options, and we choose the one that suits your roof.

Multi-foil insulation
Multi-foil insulation is made of thin layers of reflective foil and wadding. It is fixed to the rafters, so it insulates the roof slope and keeps the loft space usable. It is thin, clean to fit and suits lofts where you want to store things or convert the space later.
Other options
Where multi-foil is not the best choice, we fit insulation between and over the joists on the loft floor. UK guidance recommends a depth of about 270mm for mineral wool laid on the loft floor. We recommend the option that suits your loft, your roof and how you use the space.
What is included
- A survey of the loft, the roof timbers and ventilation
- Removal of old, damp or damaged insulation where needed
- New insulation fitted to the rafters or the joists
- Ventilation kept clear, so the roof stays dry
- A tidy loft and all waste removed
Good to know
- Insulation must not block the airflow at the eaves. Blocked airflow can cause condensation.
- If your loft has spray foam, it must come out first. See Spray foam removal.
- If you plan solar panels, we can insulate the loft before the installation.
